Cedar Rapids is the county seat of Linn County in the state of Iowa. It is both Iowa’s second-largest city and the largest corn-processing city in the world. Located in eastern Iowa, Cedar Rapids is one of America’s leading manufacturing and bio-processing regions.

Unfortunately, Cedar Rapids struggles with its share of the opioid epidemic. New CDC data has shown a significant spike in opioid overdose deaths in the USA during the pandemic, with more than 81,000 people dying of a drug overdose between May 2019 and May 2020.

The good news for Cedar Rapids residents is that help is very much within reach, and they don’t have to struggle alone with chemical dependency. If you or someone you know needs help with alcohol or drug abuse, this is a good time to seek help in the excellent, affordable treatment facilities in Cedar Rapids and nearby areas.

Opened in 2005, Clearview Recovery, Inc. is a state-licensed premier substance abuse treatment program for women, including women with children. In partnership with United Way of Jasper County, Clearview seeks to build a healthier, more productive community through the provision of client-centered, individualized recovery programs, one woman at a time.

The best thing about Clearview is that it provides similar services you would find in many other treatment centers but in a gender-specific setting, thus, improving the best outcomes for their clients. These include parenting classes, assertiveness training, awareness of co-occurring issues, substance use education, case management, anger management, and integrated primary care.

Clearview provides all ASAM levels of substance abuse treatment. The ASAM’s five levels of care include early intervention, outpatient services, intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization, residential/inpatient services, and medically managed intensive inpatient services. This means the facility provides 24-hour staffing with round-the-clock monitoring and individualized length of stay to ensure successful and long-lasting sobriety.

The facility welcomes not just women but pregnant women and women with children. The advantage of this arrangement is that families can recreate a treatment environment resembling real-life situations at home.

Bridges of Iowa Inc provides life-saving services for those facing life-controlling problems. It is a long-term program that does not require frequent shuttling between home and the facility. The founder describes the program as a “small non-profit agency that provides top-quality, long-term substance use disorder treatment services to the highest risk and most vulnerable individuals” in the community.

You can consider Bridges as small but mighty as it literally saves lives, especially through the recidivism prevention approach. Most of its clients are individuals recently released from jail with nowhere to turn to or the prospect of access to a high-quality treatment facility.

Bridges fills this gap, as the facility serves as more than just a chemical dependency treatment center but also provides reentry services such as job search/employment assistance and family reunification. Bridges was founded by a man who had experienced the same issues of addiction, incarceration, loss, and the frustration that comes with it.
